The ephemeral ceramic record is designed to dissipate as a result of being played. The sound waves contained within are consumed each time it is played on a turntable, until they have once and forever disappeared, and in their place will remain mute ash.

Lo scorso anno, per l’intero mese di Aprile, è stata presentata in anteprima, presso il Sound Corner dell’Auditorium - Parco della musica di Roma, la documentazione sonora del progressivo disfacimento fonografico dell’oggetto sonoro in ceramica contenuto in questa edizione “morente, concepita, assieme ad altri 4 multipli d’arte che seguiranno questa pubblicazione (il cui materiale originale, digitalizzato, si trova nel cd-archivio compreso nell’edizione), per rendere omaggio all'opera dell'artista Paul Chain, ed alla sua personale ricerca escatologica, l' “antica filosofia della morte o magia viola*”.

Ogni parte di questa edizione concettuale è stata progettata seguendo i suggerimenti lasciati dall'autore, il quale crede fermamente che il potere nascosto di queste registrazioni dovrebbe essere lasciato morire. Questa "edizione morente" rappresenta così l’inumazione concettuale di questo corpo artistico, la sua sepoltura finale.
Questa edizione d’arte, e gli elementi che la compongono, sono stati progettati per deperire nel tempo, fino al loro completo disfacimento, alla loro totale consunzione, fino a svelarne la forma "sublime", per diventare così oggetto di pura contemplazione.
La particolare terra che compone l'opera, ricca di materiale organico, è l'elemento chimico catalizzatore di tale processo. Allo stesso modo, l’oggetto sonoro in ceramica contenuto nell'edizione, consumerà via via le onde sonore incise attraverso il processo stesso di riproduzione, che avviene per frizione meccanica della puntina del giradischi sul disco stesso. Lentamente, scompariranno ad ogni ascolto, lasciando solo mute ceneri. Questo nuovo "corpo artistico" così sublimato, potrà essere conservato ed ammirato nella sua nuova natura di reliquia.

I. Disco in ceramica: disco in copia unica, inciso a 45 rpm, master originale dell’esecuzione registrata su nastro magnetico, pubblicata da RMEDL e realizzata in occasione dell'audio diffusione pubblica, tenutasi presso Sound Corner, Auditorium -Parco Della Musica, Roma. L’audio originale è stato reso disponibile per gentile concessione di Marco Melzi, Minotauro Records. Il disco di ceramica è un oggetto sonoro effimero che è stato progettato per essere consumato durante il suo ascolto, durante il processo stesso di riproduzione, che per frizione meccanica della puntina del giradischi, sul disco in ceramica, ha consumato via via i microsolchi fonografici incisi. Lentamente le onde sonore sono scomparse, lasciando solo muta polvere.

This opera it is based on the E.V.P. researches by Michael Esposito, conducted in the years in the Manteno State Hospital (1927 – 1985), located in rural Manteno Township, Kankakee County, Illinois. The Sound Object version include a fine art CDR and a seven inch GLUE RECORD, playable in regular amplified turntables, to discover and reveal other psychoacoustics dimensions of this metaphysic piece, using this opera as device for your direct instrumental transcommunication experiments. This work include also a special e.book of meta-photography sessions, psi-focused on the residual energies of three original pictures of the Manteno State Hospital and conceived to explore the psychic drifts connected to the main building and to the hydrotherapy rooms of this abandoned psychiatric hospital.

Seven secret mental representations are the concrete musical score that lead the execution of this suite; a silent guide for all the improvised instrumental recording sessions as unique form of non-idiomatic scoring. In this program the destruction of quadrature it's set to achieve a temporal awareness where each kind of perceptive rhythm decay thus experiencing the subjective rhythmization. There's no vocal execution involved in these recordings: secondary frequencies and non-harmonic resonances can evoke auditory hallucinations.

This conceptual album is a 2 channel stereo hi-fi transposition of a related site specific multi-channel acoustic installation set, based on the sound spatialization system I.M.E.A.S.Y, both developped from the hermetic multidimensional sound art project Chthonian Music, conceived by RMEDL to be performed in an ancient Etruscan hypogeum sited in Cecina (Italy), during the spring solstice (Ante Diem Duodecimum Kalendas Apriles) within the programmatic-conceptual event "Metasound – Independent Curatorial Experiences in ntemporary Art: from the object up to the event: sound art, multimedia and practice of the art of listening",an hypermedial site-specific project, cured by SG as RMEDL, installed within the archaeological park of Cecina, in the core of the ancient Tuscia.
This conceptual album and the related audio installation are musically composed by Pietro Riparbelli / K11 who playing organ, voices, drum and directis the recording sessions of the acoustic sources produced by the previous mentioned artists, expecially conceived by the authors for this project. This multidimensional collaborative opera is a bridge between the conception of sound within the contemporary art scene, the postindustrial culture and the avantgarde black metal musical scene, focusing on creating a dialogic development between radical forms of concrete music, unorthodox sounds, conceptual arts and experimental recordings practices of the acoustic phenomenas.This project is based on the study of the territory where Cecina stands today, already known in Etruscan age with the name of Kaikne or Kaikna and was inhabited in Roman times, when an imperial personality, the consul Albino Cecina who was a descendant of an ancient Etruscan family that came from Volterra (Velathri), ordered the construction of a villa, the ruins of which are still visited in San Vincenzino.
The surrounding area of Cecina, knew a long period of decline, which began with the decline of the Etruscan civilization and marked during the Roman domination. However in medieval times the name of the Tuscan town was quoted by Dante Alighieri (Inf. XIII, 7). The peculiar state of re-veiling of the historical roots of Cecina town, began in the Roman construction plant of the Albini Villa by the department of archaeological sciences of the University of Pisa (in this contest stands the discovery of a headless statue in Egyptian alabaster that represents Isis). It becomes the right condition for the staging of meta-curator project Metasound through which a witness is shown, though as a part of a state of the art research on aesthetic trans-operative promoting by RM-ED/L. The choice of the roman cistern and its adjacent mysteric tunnels, as the core of the catabasis experience intrinsec in the concept of Chthonian Music. and as sound-chamber of the related acoustic installation, comes from the study on the symbolic meaning of places of worship, that was developed in Etruscan age - civilization that first settled in the adjacent grounds to the Cecina river. The re-veiling of the etruscan settlement, roman villa and medioeval cemetery, in the small park of San Vincenzino, opens to the possibility of considering the reading of the archaeological sites in their likely original function of sacred hypogeum. The cavity of the cistern, thus, becomes a possible reuse of an earlier site of Etruscan origine, with a more likely symbolic function of a place consecrated to the worship of Chthonic Deities. Demeter-Persephone (Phersipnai) was the goddess which was based the religion of the Mysteries, imported by the Etruscans in Italy.
Kidnapped by Hades and carried in the realm of the underworld, becaming the queen of the hell through his ritual death. Demeter, the goddess of the earth got that Persephone / Phersipnai reigned during the winter months and in the remaining months could return to earth, whose myth is the awakening of the soul and its cyclical path of death and transfiguration. Delving into the dark recesses of the earth, meant to open a gate to a supernatural dimension. Tunnels and mazes of paths represented the symbolic difficult journey of the soul towards a higher life. Exit from the bowels of the land, from the darkest recesses of the earth and the human soul, represents the rebirth of the soul to a higher level of living. The annual return of Phersipnai on earth among the living, coincided with the beginning of spring, and on this occasion were celebrated the Lesser Mysteries, or the second Birth. On this occasion, wizards with snakes twisted on the arms, moved at the flickering light of torches in long orgiastic processions (Nuktélia) that ended with a search of the queen Phersipnai.Hetrvria Hermetica.

This sound object, and the related sound art installation based on the principles of acoustic gramophone, coinceived and designed as a site specific opera for the Etrusca Museum, was designed to expand the usual techniques of sound reproduction, extending the possibilities of projection and sound spatialization, making it also a ritualistic mantic instrument. The vinyl is engraved with the recording of "Liber Linteus [Ao - 4 MN c. P22AT + x]" | LLZ | conceived to one voice, made by Ukrainian's artist Lunurumh (Astral Lueur, Virvel Av Morkerhatet), where the singer performs special techniques of singing.

This sound object it's a phono-mediumistic set created with a shining circle of authors,
cathalized by the pioneer and master of the black industrial musical genre:
MZ.412 (and his mastermind HENRIK NORDVARGR BJORKK).
The content of this special concept album, conceived, designed and released by RM-ED/L, is a compendium in the form of Grimoire; a special magical device for metaphisical pratiques of ancient form of manteia (divination) based on the occult side of the risonance of the sound.
About the GRIMOIRE CD-R device: The audio content of the CD-R is developped by the original recordings made by all the authors involved in the CD format where they operas are explicitally composed as a demoniacal evocation "formed with sound".
This audio cd-r is initially manipulated in studio, only to excite the very low frequencies of the original recordings. The result was played with loud speakers and re-recorded live with special microphones, during a liminal cojuntion of events (date 08 November 2008), 13 meter under the ground, during the 16th event of the Etruscan magic astronomy, towards the north-west sol-stitium of Manvtha, for the Samonios of the Triplici Mundus Patet; into an ancient Rasnakh ritual underground place, sited in the core of Tuscia: the Munisvle of Fanum Voltumnae.
Exciting the very low frequencies of the XIII evocations composed by all the authors involved, have permit to manifest the essences of their ritual recordings, through the demoniacal acoustic manifestation of their psycho induction. The particular condition of this second recording session, made in the Rasnakh Munisvle, have permitted to charge the recordings in itselfs with the live presence of the dead energy of the ancient spirits of darkness, which in this deeper underground temples, near the center of the earth, have the door for their reign.

HOW TO USE THIS "Artist's multiples"
as private audio installation:
Open the display frame from the back, and extract the vinyl record and the printed glass. Use the printed glass as a screen for enviromental light projecton. using a lamp (or a flashlight), in a dark room, to project all around the shadows of the sepulcral branch tree, during the playing sessions of the entire record.

Fine art realised on demand: the conceptual sound-artwork is composed by a 15X15 inch display frame (ready to be attach to the wall), a printed glass, a 5 panels printed cardboard and insert, a 12 inch vinyl. Every copy of the vinyl is unique, recorded as one of a kind, one by one. Two millimeters black vinyl, highly precision and craft work for high quality product.

The coronal suture of the skull bears a close resemblance (this should be verified but let's assume it's true) to the thick and sinuous line inscribed by the stylus of a phonograph on the rotating cylinder. What would happen if we were to cheat that stylus into moving along a different and unusual path, one that is not the graphical translation of a sound but rather something that exists in its own right, naturally, and - well, let's go ahead and say it, something like the coronal suture itself (for example)?-: The result should be a sound, a sequence of sounds, a certain music...

This recording is the documentation of the audio installation conceived for Sound Corner 21 / Auditorium Parco Della Musica, Roma, set from 01 to 30 April 2015. It's based on the ceramic sound object of "Satan's Future", contained in the conceptual edition called "dying edition", published by RMEDL in summer 2015, conceived to pay tribute to the opera of the artist Paul Chain and his personal eschatological research, to his philosophy of death or violet magic.
Paul Chain (1977 - 05 April 2003) declares his artistic death on April 05 2003. Following the suggestions left by the author, who strongly believes that the hidden power of these recordings should be left to die, until its consumption, everything involved in the related Dying Edition is designed to die. The "dying edition" represents the conceptual interment of this artistic body, its final grave.
The source of this limited edition ceramic record is designed to be consumed by its playing. The process of playing the ceramic record will consume the engraved sound waves, from time to time. Slowly the sound waves will disappear, untill only mute ash will remain. This audio recording is the direct documentation of various playing of the ceramic record on turntable, synthesized in three parts. "Satan's Future" was originally selected by Paul Chain for his "Relative Tapes" private archive, courtesy by Marco Melzi, Minotauro Records.
Akusmata Sound Festival | 11. - 15.10.2016 | Sound Gallery Akusmata will celebrate its five year anniversary with the Akusmata Sound Festival. This five-day festival presents a broad spectrum of new aural expression. ASF's program includes performances from Norway, Denmark, Russia and Italy. Italian Radical Matters Editions/ Label brings to Helsinki the doom metal alchemist Paul Chain with a sound installation.
Artistic directors of the festival are Petri Kuljuntausta and Kenneth Kovasin.
Akusmata is also the first sound art gallery in Finland since 2011.
Akusmata art gallery it is directed by Petri Kuljuntausta, a composer, musician, sound artist and author of three important books on electronic music and sound art. In close collaboration with natural scientists his research it's developped in the field between art and science. The most extreme musical environment for Kuljuntausta's music is Saturn's moon Titan. When Cassini-Huygens spacecraft (Titan-IVB/Centaur) started its journey in 1997 from Kennedy Space Center, United States, his composition Charm of Sound was inside the Huygens probe of Cassini-Huygens spacecraft, stored on the CD-rom. When Huygens probe reached its destination on Friday January 14, 2005, Kuljuntausta's Charm of Sound landed on the ground of Titan after travelling seven years and four billion kilometres through Space.

Kaula are: Pietro Riparbelli: Conception, Organs, Distorted Voice and Field Recordings | Rosy (Profanal): Vocal | Kristian (Profanal): Guitar | Nicco (Profanal): Drum . Kaula is an experimental Black Metal band based in Italy that wants investigate some dimensions related to the hindu culture with particular reference to the worship of the Kali Deity. Thus, all the lyrics of kaula project are taken from an old an important text of the Shivaitic Tantrism called AVADHUT GITA. The Avadhuta Gita is a text of Vedanta representing extreme Advaita or Nondualism. It is ascribed to Dattatreya, who is looked upon as an Incarnation of God. Avadhut means a liberated soul, one who has "passed away from" or "shaken off" all worldly attachments and cares and has attained a spiritual state equivalent to the existence of God. Though avadhut naturally implies renunciation, it includes an additional and yet higher state which is neither attachment nor detachment but beyond both. An avadhut feels no need of observing any rules, either secular or religious. He seeks nothing, avoids nothing. He has neither knowledge nor ignorance. Having realized that he is the infinite Self, he lives in that vivid realization.

Silencio sin reverberaciones: 30 minutos en una camara anecoica.
En 1951 el compositor y gran pensador norteamericano John Cage visitA la camara anecoica (una habitaciOn totalmente aislada, sin eco) de la universidad de Harvard para intentar confirmar la existencia del silencio. El resultado que obtuvo fue un tanto inesperado: Inmerso en aquel espacio no-resonante Cage escucho dos sonidos, uno grave, el de la circulacin sanguinea y otro agudo, el del sistema nervioso, deduciendo por tanto que el silencio no existe. Sin duda se trata de uno de los acontecimientos que ha marcado la historia, cuanto menos reciente, de la masica y las artes sonoras, primero por romper de alguna forma los historicos lmites entre musica, sonido y escucha y por otra parte porque fue el germen de una de las composiciones mas paradigmaticas de la historia de la musica: 4'33". Seguramente por estas mismas razones la experiencia anecoica (limitada principalmente al ambito cientofico) ha sido victima de un proceso de mitificacion, quizos excesivo, por parte de la comunidad de creadores sonoros.
Gracias a la empresa Labein-Tecnalia ubicada en Derio (Bizkaia) recientemente tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar dos camaras anecoicas, una dedicada a la medicien de campos electromagneticos (frecuencias altas) y otro a la de acusticos (frecuencias dentro de nuestro rango auditivo). Y de paso, tuvimos la oportunidad de comprobar los resultados obtenidos por Cage, asa como de desmitificar varias creencias relativas a estas camaras. Una interesante experiencia que hemos intentado resumir, mediante grabaciones sonoras en este programa. The international pioneeristic network sound art project of the arly '80 live AGAIN!!!!!
One year after the reprint as a free download and limited edition cd of the Trax 0983 Anthems project, Radical Matters reproposes with the same formula the first vinyl album produced by the atypical group/label TRAX in the distant year 1982. Following up a series of audiocassettes assembled with similar methodologies (Technodeath, Horrorbox, The Cop Killers, etc.), this pioneering album conceived and coordinated by Piermario Ciani synthesized brilliantly the idea of a “telematic” (and “modular”) music, composed and played through collaborations at distance, a concept explored before the age of Internet both by activists of the heterogeneous international “tape network” and by exponents of the “serious” electronic music scene, for example Pietro Grossi.
As usual in this series of reprints started in 2007 with the double cd Rednight, Gianluca Becuzzi took care of the remastering from the original vinyl and added a new experiment in composition at distance (NewXtra). Nigel Ayers is the only participant of Xtra that has been involved again, creating thirty years later an ideal bridge between the two projects. For the occasion, I immersed myself once again in the archive of memories, digging up some images and documents of the period (the Grand Trax 0184 box, in particular, contained some graphics originally created for a deluxe edition of the Xtra lp, never completed), added here as an extra bonus and testimony of the multimedial disposition of the whirl of products and events that TRAX got under way between 1981 and 1987.
Whatever happened to the original TRAX Units? Some friends (to whom this reprint is dedicated) have sadly come to an untimely end, others are still active in areas connected to the artistical and musical scene, even with high-profile results (like Massimo Giacon in the fields of design, comics and contemporary art, or Martin Hall, who has become in Denmark a cult writer and composer), yet others are today professors of high repute or hold public offices in the cultural sector (Martina, Ciullini). If you appreciated the unique mixture of bizarre new wave, darting elettropop, ferocious industrial-noise and minimalist ambient of Xtra, let us know, we will feel more motivated to retrieve a few other rare relics. Once more, my warmest thanks go to all the authors involved and to Gianluca Becuzzi and Sandro Gronchi, without whose genuine enthusiasm this work would have never seen the light of day. - Vittore Baroni, January 2011 -

After over a quarter of a century, some materials produced as part of the modular project TRAX, promoted from 1981 to 1987 by Piermario Ciani, Vittore Baroni and Massimo Giacon, are now made available as free downloads in RMEDL Web Editions. For each work a limited Collector’s Edition on cd, with more multimedial materials, will be also produced. The first release in this new series of reprints - following the double cd Notterossa / Rednight appeared in 2007 on Small Voices - is the concept album Anthems originally appeared in september 1983, with 21 new, ironical and provocative versions of national anthems from real and imaginary countries, created by musicians from various nations. The concept was issued in two different editions, as a vinyl LP (in 1000 copies) and as a cassette with booklet (500 copies). This reprint contains all the anthems included in the two TRAX products, plus a double unpublished anthem dedicated to All Frontiers, created for the occasion by Gianluca Becuzzi, who also skillfully remastered all the tracks from their original supports. I hope that these compositions so diverse in style and conception, a testimony of a particularly lively and creative period in the international underground scene, may still instruct and entertain: you have a chance here to listen to a young Masami Akita in one of the rare musical works in the huge Merzbow catalogue, as well as to discover gems from the fantastical nations of Naon and Akademgorod. For sure, Laibach enjoyed their participation in the project, since they appropriated the very same idea in 2006 for their Volk album.Heartfelt thanks to all the collaborators old and new: enjoy this planetary networking experience! This conceptual album is designed as a private ritual audio installation. An acousmatic four channels piece for two hi-fi systems: It is an audio-set composed by two CDs planned to be played simultaneously. You could play and listen just one cd at time, or you could play both the cd's at the same time, using two differents cd players linked to two differents hi-fi systems, both set at the same volume, to create the four channels acousmatic piece, and open yourself to the phono-medianic ritual. A concept album based on the namesake fourth scene of «Samstag aus Licht», from the opera «Licht: die sieben Tage der Woche», composed by Karlheinz Stockhausen. These five compositions, are a specific result of an acousmatic audio-mixing process, where each author involved, has recorded a solo session of free improvisation, using as score only the enharmonic electric bass sessions, previously recorded, unknowing what each other author has recorded before.

One year after the reprint as a free download and limited edition cd of the Trax 0983 Anthems project, Radical Matters reproposes with the same formula the first vinyl album produced by the atypical group/label TRAX in the distant year 1982. Following up a series of audiocassettes assembled with similar methodologies (Technodeath, Horrorbox, The Cop Killers, etc.), this pioneering album conceived and coordinated by Piermario Ciani synthesized brilliantly the idea of a “telematic” (and “modular”) music, composed and played through collaborations at distance, a concept explored before the age of Internet both by activists of the heterogeneous international “tape network” and by exponents of the “serious” electronic music scene, for example Pietro Grossi. As usual in this series of reprints started in 2007 with the double cd Rednight, Gianluca Becuzzi took care of the remastering from the original vinyl and added a new experiment in composition at distance (NewXtra). Nigel Ayers is the only participant of Xtra that has been involved again, creating thirty years later an ideal bridge between the two projects.
For the occasion, I immersed myself once again in the archive of memories, digging up some images and documents of the period (the Grand Trax 0184 box, in particular, contained some graphics originally created for a deluxe edition of the Xtra lp, never completed), added here as an extra bonus and testimony of the multimedial disposition of the whirl of products and events that TRAX got under way between 1981 and 1987.
Whatever happened to the original TRAX Units? Some friends (to whom this reprint is dedicated) have sadly come to an untimely end, others are still active in areas connected to the artistical and musical scene, even with high-profile results (like Massimo Giacon in the fields of design, comics and contemporary art, or Martin Hall, who has become in Denmark a cult writer and composer), yet others are today professors of high repute or hold public offices in the cultural sector (Martina, Ciullini). If you appreciated the unique mixture of bizarre new wave, darting elettropop, ferocious industrial-noise and minimalist ambient of Xtra, let us know, we will feel more motivated to retrieve a few other rare relics. Once more, my warmest thanks go to all the authors involved and to Gianluca Becuzzi and Sandro Gronchi, without whose genuine enthusiasm this work would have never seen the light of day.

This conceptual album and the related audio installation are musically composed by Pietro Riparbelli / K11 who playing organ, voices, drum and directis the recording sessions of the acoustic sources produced by the previous mentioned artists, expecially conceived by the authors for this project. This multidimensional collaborative opera is a bridge between the conception of sound within the contemporary art scene, the postindustrial culture and the avantgarde black metal musical scene, focusing on creating a dialogic development between radical forms of concrete music, unorthodox sounds, conceptual arts and experimental recordings practices of the acoustic phenomenas.This project is based on the study of the territory where Cecina stands today, already known in Etruscan age with the name of Kaikne or Kaikna and was inhabited in Roman times, when an imperial personality, the consul Albino Cecina who was a descendant of an ancient Etruscan family that came from Volterra (Velathri), ordered the construction of a villa, the ruins of which are still visited in San Vincenzino.
The surrounding area of Cecina, knew a long period of decline, which began with the decline of the Etruscan civilization and marked during the Roman domination. However in medieval times the name of the Tuscan town was quoted by Dante Alighieri (Inf. XIII, 7). The peculiar state of re-veiling of the historical roots of Cecina town, began in the Roman construction plant of the Albini Villa by the department of archaeological sciences of the University of Pisa (in this contest stands the discovery of a headless statue in Egyptian alabaster that represents Isis). It becomes the right condition for the staging of meta-curator project Metasound through which a witness is shown, though as a part of a state of the art research on aesthetic trans-operative promoting by RM-ED/L. The choice of the roman cistern and its adjacent mysteric tunnels, as the core of the catabasis experience intrinsec in the concept of Chthonian Music. and as sound-chamber of the related acoustic installation, comes from the study on the symbolic meaning of places of worship, that was developed in Etruscan age - civilization that first settled in the adjacent grounds to the Cecina river. The re-veiling of the etruscan settlement, roman villa and medioeval cemetery, in the small park of San Vincenzino, opens to the possibility of considering the reading of the archaeological sites in their likely original function of sacred hypogeum. The cavity of the cistern, thus, becomes a possible reuse of an earlier site of Etruscan origine, with a more likely symbolic function of a place consecrated to the worship of Chthonic Deities. Demeter-Persephone (Phersipnai) was the goddess which was based the religion of the Mysteries, imported by the Etruscans in Italy.
Kidnapped by Hades and carried in the realm of the underworld, becaming the queen of the hell through his ritual death. Demeter, the goddess of the earth got that Persephone / Phersipnai reigned during the winter months and in the remaining months could return to earth, whose myth is the awakening of the soul and its cyclical path of death and transfiguration. Delving into the dark recesses of the earth, meant to open a gate to a supernatural dimension. Tunnels and mazes of paths represented the symbolic difficult journey of the soul towards a higher life. Exit from the bowels of the land, from the darkest recesses of the earth and the human soul, represents the rebirth of the soul to a higher level of living. The annual return of Phersipnai on earth among the living, coincided with the beginning of spring, and on this occasion were celebrated the Lesser Mysteries, or the second Birth. On this occasion, wizards with snakes twisted on the arms, moved at the flickering light of torches in long orgiastic processions (Nuktélia) that ended with a search of the queen Phersipnai.Hetrvria Hermetica.

THE NIETZSCHE FABRIK SESSIONS / TRANSMISSION
In June 2008, Blind Cave Salamander was invited to take part in the Torino World Design Capital festival presenting a site specific performance to be staged on the roof of the Nietzsche Fabrik workshop and incorporating sounds from the local machines, smitheries and carpenters at work. The material on this album is the live recording of the in-studio rehearsal for this performance as then edited and reworked by Marco Milanesio. The same material has since been broadcasted and re-recorded in a unique instrumental transcommunication action, using FM and SW radio signals, by Pietro Riparbelli, inside the Etruscan necropolis of the ancient Kysra. In this way taking the Salamander back underground. In some ways this record displays a possible sound-path within its aural mutations.

La sutura coronale del cranio presenta ( cosa che sarebbe anzitutto da verificare, ma accettiamola pure) una stretta somiglianza con la linea fitta e sinuosa che la punta di un fonografo inscrive nel cilindro ruotante della apparecchiatura. Che cosa accadrebbe se ingannassimo quella punta e, invece di ricondurla lungo la propria traccia, la portassimo su una via che non è la traduzione grafica di un suono, ma di una cosa che esiste di per se, in maniera naturale, e – bene, diciamolo pure, che fosse (per esempio) proprio la sutura coronale? - : dovrebbe nascere un suono, una sequenza di suoni, una musica…
The coronal suture of the skull bears a close resemblance (this should be verified but let's assume it's true) to the thick and sinuous line inscribed by the stylus of a phonograph on the rotating cylinder. What would happen if we were to cheat that stylus into moving along a different and unusual path, one that is not the graphical translation of a sound but rather something that exists in its own right, naturally, and - well, let's go ahead and say it, something like the coronal suture itself (for example)?-: The result should be a sound, a sequence of sounds, a certain music...
The Art of forced locked grooves in metaphisical experiments.
Improvised sessions, made using a ephemera custom-turntable and a unique edit scratched vinyl played in forced locked grooves, Environmental microphone feedback, mixer. Recording and mastering with an hard-disk-recorder. Recording setup: mixer and microphones in a large room, during necromantical sound operations.

Improvvised music session made with cassette manipulations (using a 2 cassette walkman): playing simoulatneously, in fast forwards and rewind mode, both the sides of the original Black Metal demo-tape "Macabre Rites", recorded by Macabre in 1986 (Macabre: SG - bass and vocals, P. Riparbelli - drums, PF Pompizzi - Guitars). Recorded on PC.
