Born in the province of Napoli in 1956. Since 1973 he has dedicated himself to the theatre and the arts as author, actor, musician, director. His video productions date back to 1983 and combine attention to "poor" media and materials and the theatrical tradition with an experimentalism that is both eclectic and critical of the new electronic technologies. He has invented "tele-tales" (tele-racconto) for children (performance that unites narration, micro-theatre and macro-video live), worked with prison inmates, animated 'Euclid', the interactive artificial puppet of Studio Azzurro, created "poor" and alternative games for using television intelligently, founded the SeStessiVideo production company, taught how to destroy television sets, written, polemicized, invented formulae and definitions. He defines himself as a "teknoartist" and he's engaged in interactive art. Since 1998 he has lived in Lucca. In 1980 he started working on theatre research, techno performances, videoart, bag pipe playing, children’s theatre, a guest on TV, computer graphics and he also invented “Tele-racconto”. At the beginning of the 90’s he started to work on projects which involve the use of the television and interactive art, virtual reality, educative video making, and theory of communication. He has also realised that he is/has been a cyberpunk. All of this without wanting to lose a Tuscan accent. Italy request info >>

WILLIAM C. SEITZPUBLISHED RELEASES__________________________________________ William Seitz, who in 1955 became the first person to get a PhD in modern art from Princeton University, also wrote the earliest major text on Abstract Expressionism. While he is most known for the exhibitions The Art of Assemblage and The Responsive Eye, during his tenure as a curator at MoMA in the 1960s he continued to champion Abstract Expressionist artists, organizing significant solo shows on Mark Tobey, Arshile Gorky, and Hans Hofmann. During this time, he also curated a major show exploring Claude Monet’s late work and its effect on the New York School. Featuring correspondence among Seitz, Alfred H. Barr, Jr., and the Princeton graduate committee regarding the validity of Abstract Expressionism as a dissertation topic, along with installation photographs, correspondence, and other material from the MoMA Archives, this exhibition sheds new light on one of MoMA’s leading curatorial voices of the 1960s. request info >>
